KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
Dr. Franco is the Global Head of Catastrophe Risk Research at Guy Carpenter, with over 20 years in research and industry. Leading the firm’s R&D in parametric risk transfer, he’s also an active collaborator with UC Santa Cruz and the Polytechnic University of Valencia. Previously, he led the Decision Analytics practice at AIR Worldwide and was a Research Fellow at Columbia University, focusing on natural disasters’ socioeconomic impacts. He’s conducted extensive field research worldwide, holds advanced degrees from Columbia University, and is a key member of the EERI and EEFIT, with more than 50 scholarly publications.
Dr. Corlu is an Associate Professor in the Administrative Sciences Department of Metropolitan College at Boston University. Her primary research interest is in the area of design and analysis of stochastic simulations under input uncertainty, and applications of data analytics and simulation-based optimization in operations management and supply chain management.
Electronic Engineer (Politecnico di Milano), Representative before the European Patent Office, the Unified Patent Court, the European Union Intellectual Property Office; Italian Patent and Trademark Agent. Active in IP since 1992. Founding partner of Maccalli & Pezzoli IP firm in 2000. Assists Clients in: defining protection strategies; performing prior art searches; advising on patentability/freedom to operate/validity of patents; drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications up to grant (main technical fields: electronics, telecommunications, information technology, electrotechnics, mechanics); IP-related lawsuits; IP rights licensing strategies.
Professional with almost 20 years dedicated to innovation and achievement of goals in supply chain optimisation processes. With extensive experience in planning and distribution models within fashion, affordable luxury, retail and FMCG sectors. Degree in Economics and Business Administration and Master in Logistics and Multimodal Transportation. Since 2005 Logistics Director of OVS responsible for full management of the physical flow of goods according to defined business plans and requirements coming from more than 2000 stores ( Oviesse, Upim & Blu Kids Stefanel, GAP flags) in Italy and abroad. Previous experiences: Responsible for Foreign Development and Logistics Projects in Gruppo Coin; Electrolux Logistics Dpt, Responsible for Italian distribution and Transportation and of white goods (appliances) and components to factories in Italy
Her carrier spans from global strategic planning in multinational companies in the 90s, to consultancy for development and internationalization and eventually C-Suite Executives Coach and Advisor. Following her Magna Cum Laude degree in Languages, has continued as Researcher at the University in Milano and London on international cultures, origin of languages and political propaganda. A true innovator, she is an expert in the way our brain functions, has developed her unique methods for achieving one’s own excellence and coaches Executives in 5 different languages. ELEMENS peculiar and innovative method merges her expertise in language and communication, both inter- and intra-personal, with the latest scientific discoveries, especially biology, physics, neuroscience and can be applied wherever there is human interaction and growth potential.
